Stowmarket shoppers are being urged to keep their belongings secure after a number of handbag thefts.
Yesetrday afternoon, two women were targeted by thieves in Ipswich Street and their purses were stolen.
Between 3.15pm and 3.20pm, a woman's purse was stolen from her handbag in a trolley outside a charity shop when she was asked for directions for Argos by a female who then walked off in the opposite direction with a second female.
Fendi Handags ReplicaThe first woman was of Asian appearance, about 40 years old, 5ft 5ins tall and of medium build. She was wearing a headscarf and long coat.
The second woman was about 20, 5ft tall, of slim build and was also Stainless Steel Earrings wearing a headscarf and long coat.
In a second incident, a woman's purse was stolen from her handbag between 3.15pm and 3.30pm while she browsed in a card shop in Ipswich Street.
While the woman was looking at cards, a woman commented on one from over her shoulder and then left the shop - the purse was then found to have been stolen.
The woman was taller than 5ft 2ins and may have been wearing blue.

Meanwhile, a handbag was stolen at 1.30pm yesterday from a woman's trolley as she shopped in Waitrose, in Bury St Edmunds.
A woman was seen to take the bag while the woman was browsing.

She is described as of Meditteranean appearance and was wearing black trousers and a black short sleeved top with a white long sleeved top underneath.
