POLICE believe the same teenager is responsible for attacks on seven elderly women in as many weeks. Detectives are warning that he has to be caught before someone is killed. Since June 12 there have been seven similar Tiffany Cufflinks attacks on women aged between 60 and 79 living in Cwmbran. In the latest incident on Wednesday, a 76year-old woman out walking her dog was targeted on a footpath near the Halfway House in Commercial Street. The attacker threw her to the ground and stamped on her chest when she refused to let go of her handbag. The woman, who has had a heart bypass, relented and he ran off with her bag. She had to be treated for broken ribs and a bruised arm.
LED Street Light LU04-112WGwent Police are looking for a male aged between 16 and 18 with short, dark hair. He was well-dressed and clean-shaven.
On June 27, a 79-year-old woman suffered a broken hip when she was pushed over in a subway at Fairwater Way.
Detective Sergeant Jim Loughlin, at Cwmbran police station, said: ``This is a very dangerous man. He has to be stopped before someone is more seriously injured
